Many tractors are built with specific variations called variante codes. Please confirm your tractor serial number and call Messick's part support to determine your actual variante code, and the appropriate parts needed for that variation. These variations are not interchangable.
The new style seals are installed with the metal side toward the outside or away from the oil. This installation is just the opposite of the previous seals.
