Installation Tips

After install the Steering cyl had 3/16" movement side to side. I took old worn bracket and modified it on the mill to use as a spacer on the other side to take up the play. Now both sides are held in place by the Hyd bungs. Best steering I've ever had even when it was new. It always had slop in the steering wheel even after a new Cyl was installed by Kubota. Total job took over 4hrs. Just bracket replacement is easy, getting the slop out was not so.

Knock steering arm ball joint out first and slip part over steering arm. Put loctite on screws to help prevent vibrating loose again.

If you still have any play after installing both side holder plates this means the hydraulic steering assembly mating surfaces also were worn and should be replaced. A cheat method is to loosen one holder plate at a time and with a five pound hammer tap the secured side holder a few times inward. Do this to both side holder plates. After resecuring both sides the assembly will be snug and the play should be gone.

Support assembly by loosely installing the two holders brackets until you get the hydraulic lines connected. Seat the holder brackets into the groove on the cylinder and tighten the holder brackets adding lock-tight to the threads.
