Swap out the pins with Quick Release Pin 1/4" Diameter w/Lanyard Prevents Loss, Full 316 Stainless Steel, Bimini Top Pin, Marine Hardware. This makes it easy to remove the pin and the lanyard can be screwed to the clasp on the OEM grill. It is made of stainless and the lanyard is stainless steel cable. They come with a ball bearing at the end or a clevis end. Never dig for a pair of needle nose again! And if you drop the pin, it is tethered. Game changer. Find these online or at your marine retailer. They are made for Bimini tops on boats.
