The weldment arms I ordered from Messick's are just fine. The installation would have taken about 30 minutes had it not been for one problem: There were holes in the arms where zerk (grease) fittings were supposed to be. The holes were not tapped. None of this is Messick's fault, but it should be pointed out in the catalog. Zerk fittings have tapered threads that I assumed were pipe threads. Not so. After a long frustrating search for the proper tap for these tiny little fittings, I learned that they thread into straight threads (1/4-28). Eureka! Once I learned this, the rest went quickly. Anyone buying replacement arms for their Bush Hog finish mower should be informed of this.
