Installation Tips

The job is pretty straightforward except that one of the six nuts that attach the dynamo is difficult to get to--a bugger to remove and a bit more challenging to put back on. A 10mm ratchet wrench reworked by bending and grinding, and some tape to hold the nut in the wrench was the key for me.

One nut is not accessible. Get a flat ratchet box end 10mm wrench. It was the only thing I could find to work. When reinstalling put that nut and washer on first.

make sure you have a 10mm flex head ratchet wrench and a extendable magnet to recover the nuts and washers you will drop into the abyss. have fresh anti freeze on hand. remove hood, radiator and right side engine cover. good time to replace the V belt also. loosen the center tension pulley nut to allow it to adjust with side bolt, don't forget to tighten after setting belt tension!

The bottom center bolt is almost impossible to get to. I found out that you can use a 10mm ratchet wrench with a flex head. You will have to be very patient taking off and putting the nut back on. Don't forget to order a gasket as it doesn't come with it I found out.

What I did was remove radiator take off fan blade I had to use a 10mm ratchet wrench to get bottom nut off slow going big fingers to put the nut back on I had to put blue tape around nut to hold in wrench was slow going but got other than the two nuts at bottom was easy good luck
