Wear gloves. Place a container under the filter to catch spilled fuel. Clean the bowl inside and out prior to reinstalling. Diesel engines: Allowing the bowl to fill with fuel prior to tightening may eliminate the need to bleed the injectors.

shut off fuel first (shot off is horizontal position of the lever), remember to bleed both bleeders on top of the fuel filter assembly before restarting, existing o-rings were reusable with no issues, place a drain pan beneath as you will lose some fuel
