Kubota 1G498-83040 is a thermo sensor used in the electrical system on select Kubota B Series compact tractors and RTV-X recreational utility vehicles.
This part is shown in oil switch and thermo sensor or oil switch and thermometer diagrams, depending on model. Also referred to as a temperature sensor or temperature sender, it fits select B26, B2301, B2320, B2401, and B2601 models, along with select RTV-X, RTV-X Cab, RTV-X Crew, RTV-X Long Bed, RTV-X900, RTV-X1100, RTV-X1120, RTV-X1130, and RTV-X1140 utility vehicles.

Make sure your high temp thread sealant is mixed well before applying to the treads. Just remove the old one and screw in the new one quickly. Very little coolant loss.

(Do this with engine cold and use a six point long socket to remove the old sending unit) I put permatex hi temp sealer (it is white and has Teflon in it). On the threads of the new sending unit. I unscrewed the old sending unit, but before I removed it I had the new one close by. You will lose a little anti freeze but install the new one quickly and you won't lose much anti Freeze. DON'T OVERTIGHTEN it has pipe threads on it and it needs to be snug, and with the permatex it won't leak.
