#70000-73274 Block Heater

Be ready for a coolant change. If you're unsure of the last coolant system maintenance, I'd recommend being ready for a flush, or better yet plan other coolant maintenance around the installation. I put this into a new-to-me B7200D and found a lot of deposits that I'll now have to flush out at a later time. Otherwise, the installation is straightforward.

The heater block was put in when the motor was cold and we thought it was in tight enough however after using the tractor for the first time after the installation I noticed we had a slow drip. I believe due to the expansion after the first time I used the tractor after the installation and everything got real hot we found out it was a little loose and I had to give it another 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn more to stop the leak ,so I would say let your motor be warm before the installation I did mine when it was cold.

Originally I was going to drain coolant, but opted to just put a bucket under the plug being removed. I lost maybe a 1/2 gallon of coolant as I had the heater prepped for install. I did previously add the alternator kit to my ROPS b2650, which gets in the way. My recommendation is to remove the alternator (or dynamo) to have more room for tightening. Not required to do so, but I didn't have correct size socket.
