Not paying attention I installed it backwards. Keep metal side facing out. I was able to remove and reinstall it but I will have to order a new one as I did mess it up a little.

Time for seal install only, I did a complete rebuild of all seals, gears, and bearings in the deck gearbox. This job with cleaning and reinstall took about 6 hours. That includes removing the deck, rebuild time and reinstallation time. The only problem I saw was the exploded view of parts is misleading on how and where the bearing goes on the input shaft. Several tools required. This job is not for the faint of heart.
