The part installed easily but in order to fit it into the handle the old broken off piece needed to be removed. It took time to drill out the broken off piece since it had basically welded itself in the handle hole due to years of sliding up and down in the hole. It took a really sharp drill bit to make the hole deep enough for the part to fit in fully.

2 bolts from underneath black plastic cover. Remove handles from levers. Replace faulty part (common issue, bad design). Replace covers and handles. Go to work.

Installing this is a bit of a puzzle. You have to remove a few other parts in order to get this part, and the conttol lever, installed. But it's all self-evident what has to be done. Apparently it's a common problem for this rod end bolt to shear out of the control lever.

My problem on my LA1065 was the joint (rod end) (7k530-71180) striped out of the control lever (7J266-62210) so i wanted/needed to replace both. What was worse is that when I was removing the joint (rod end) from the lock lever (7J266-62163) the screw on the lock lever broke off (the screw is welded to the lock lever so I had to order the 7J266-62163 also). All 3 parts were very easy to replace.
