Recommend removing the upper horizontal brace to make the install easier. do not remove the gearbox lower bolts completely while removing the belt - it keeps the alignment of the gearbox in the proper place. I used extra time to grease and inspect the deck for wear.

I found it easier to take the additional time to remove the cross bar above the gear head vs trying to wedge it between the gear head and cross bar above.

First, remove the belt tension spring. The old belt should be left on and removed as you install the new belt. Second, remove the gearbox mount bolts from the right hand side, slide the old belt out and the new belt under the gearbox, making sure it is facing the gearbox pulling (the V goes against the pullty). Third, we attached the gearbox mount the right hand side. Forth, slide the new belt underneath the spring tension arm, ensuring that the flat side of the belt will be against the tensioning pulley (not the V side of the belt). Guide the belt (V side facing into each of the remaining three pulleys removing the old belt as you go. Fifth, reattach the tensioning spring.
