Installing the cylinder wasn't that difficult. The headache and time was removing the threaded tie rods attached to the ends of the cylinder. I was able to break one lose but removing the other one was a challenge keeping the plunger rod from spinning. I grinded flats in it and used vise grips.

Easy to change just remember to remove the hose retainer on the left side so you can pull the hoses out further to get the hose fittings on and replace the cylinder retainer first on the right side as that will make it easier replacing the cylinder position retainer to lock the cylinder back in place

Don’t forget to save the snap rings from the old cylinder and install on the new one as the new one doesn’t come with these. These rings keep the cylinder locked in place against the cylinder holder. Also, connect the hydraulic lines (longest one first) first. Use bungees to hold cylinder in place while connecting the lines.

Probably could have done it faster but I was not working near the garage and didn’t have all the tools needed to replace the cylinder. Dropping the axle works best and it takes a little time to fill the cylinder up with oil

On a BX2230D be sure to remove the cowling before you begin removal & installation of the steering cylinder which makes reinstalling the fluid hoses much easier and make sure you have a medium to large snap ring pliers to remove and reinstall the old ones. Otherwise, somewhat straight forward.

Purchase 2 new hydraulic line elbows (K2561-41580) don't try to reuse elbows. They are impossible to remove from the old steering cylinder without shearing off. Extremely limited room to get your hand under the protective frame to thread the hydraulic line onto the elbow. Suggest supporting cylinder weight with bungee/clamp, connect the longest hydraulic line first, then connect the shortest line.

Not hard but a crows foot for the passenger side fitting helps a lot. And hammer holding ears in the front as you tighten the 2 bolts in the back of the mounting tabs to keep the cylinder straight as you mount it up solid.
