To access the controller, I removed the right fender which meant that the Roll Over Protection System had to be removed. The ROPS removal requires either two people or an overhead lift. For someone that has done this before, it may be possible to work around under the fender, but you are going by feel. Removing the fender allowed for inspection of the other parts and connections during the job. Unit was experiencing an erratic start sequence as well as incorrect logic. All of the sensor switches tested good so spent the $$$ on the controller. In the course of the job, I added a 12 VDC 30-amp automotive aux relay in the solenoid circuit. The output from the controller drives the aux relay and the relay energizes the starter solenoid. The starter had been replaced a couple years back so addition of the relay was a precaution to keep any high current draw from the starter solenoid out of the controller box and let the aux relay handle it. A $10 relay versus a $300 controller seemed like cheap insurance. Unit cranks reliably and logic functions correctly. Here's hoping for a few more seasons out of a 19-year-old machine
