You will need to sand with fine sandpaper or emery cloth the spindle that the pulley will go on. Buff with sandpaper as if you are shining shoes. This will remove the brass type color and result in a silver steel color. Continue until the pulley slides on. I got this tip from Bobby at Messick's.
