Follow instructions, have (2) 12mm box wrenches and one 13mm box end for the new screws... leave tailgate on & locked in place. Remove left and right old tail gate/brackets. Install both new tail light brackets w/plastic tailgate washers pushed in on the inside leave both sides loose attach new bumper too the new brackets but leave loose, then go back and tighten tailgate brackets then tighten the new bumper mounting screws.

Hardest thing is getting the old brackets off. Mine were covered with bed liner spray. Had to scrape it off with a knife. I Was concerned about the tailgate coming off, but I did one side at a time and it wasn’t a problem. When I put the new brackets on I just had to pull up on the tailgate to line the holes up. Two people would help. Tailgate is nice and protects well, but costs about twice what it should.

When installint the tail light guard / mounting brackets it is best to lower the tailgate and install one side at a time. The tailgate hinge pin has the bedliner material sprayed on it so this needs to be removed by scraping with a knife so the brackets can be removed and re-installed.
