Installation Tips

(10 minutes)
Used a cordless impact wrence and took seconds to replace. It took longer to clean the bolts than it did to install the blades.

Use a air wrench or large impact driver. The order of installation matters: top: blade, middle: washer, bottom; nut.

Installed on LandPride 2560 finish mower. 1)  Remove swivel link at the top of mower and use bolt from swivel link bolt to connect the mower directly to the upper arm of the three point hitch.  Then use the tractor to raise the mower.  Install jack stands on each corner of mower.  Lower mower to jack stands.  Check that weight of mower is now carried by jack stands.  The upper link of the three-point hitch may be used to lower rear of mower until all four jack stands are carrying the load.  Disconnect the mower from the PTO on the tractor. 2) Make a brace to hold the mower blade in place.  This is a 2x4 about 20 inches long.  At one end cut into the middle of the 2 inch side of the 2x4.  Cut about ¼ inch wide and about 2 inches deep.  Wrap a piece of tie wire 2 times around the 2x4 at the end of the cut.  This prevents the wood from splitting when a load is put on the bolt.  3)  Place the brace around the blade and wedge into place on the skirt of the mower.  Spray PB Blaster or WD 40 around the upper side of the blade between the housing and the blade.  Let the lubricant sit for 20 minutes. 4) Using an impact socket on a breaker bar (a ¾ inch drive, 4 ft long bar works well) break the bolt free.  A floor jack is handy to hold the socket on the bolt head. 5) Installation is the reverse of the above.  Use blue or read Loctite on bolt threads. Torque to 175 ft/lbs
