Hey Neil. Paul here from Williamson Ridge Outdoors. I had a question for you today pertaining to my Kubota, M6060. Let me show you what I've got going on right now with it. So as you can see, I have a couple of hydraulic hoses hooked up to my rear remote back here. They are actually run all the way up to the front of my tractor so that I can have a third function whenever I hook up my grapple. Now, the question that I have is, when you go online and you Google search a third function kit for an M6060, all that I ever have come up is for the L series tractors. And they do not make a specific kit or not that I can find anyways, that is just a retrofit or a brand or model specific to an M series tractor.
So I'm sure that there is a third function kit for this tractor. I've seen tractors like this and tractors much larger have that third function on them. But as far as finding a kit, it's been extremely tough for me to find. Maybe I'm just looking in all the wrong places, but it is something that I've not been able to find. And I just wonder what your take is, or if you can point me in the right direction as to what to get for this. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. I love watching your channel and seeing all the new equipment come across and also the how-to's and the tips and stuff on, whether it be the hydraulic fluids and the oils and all that kind of stuff, your filter videos. I just find all that kind of stuff really interesting. And I really appreciate those videos. And thanks a lot.

Thank you for your question. I can fill you in pretty quickly on what you're finding here. The third function valve that you need for that tractor is a kit number M7991. Absolutely exists. It's a nice factory OEM third function valve. It's going to give you the buttons up there on the loader stick and have a nice guarded valve assembly that sits down at the base of your loader to keep something from coming by and cleaning off one of the hoses or something while you're working in the woods. It's a nice clean kit. The reason why you're not able to find this stuff online is because of the differentiation between the parts department and the sales department. And you'll find this kind of stuff with a lot of different things. The parts department has a lot of very good online resources, right? All those wire frame diagrams that you can go through and look at the way that the machine was put together, find the part numbers for all the bits and pieces, but that does not exist over in the sales department very well.
The different kits that we have for a machine, things like third function, and hydraulic ride, and skid steer couplers, and work lights, all that kind of stuff exists over in the sales department, who doesn't have the same online resources that parts does. Doing business online with that kind of sales stuff is really difficult because, in our world, these are two completely different business units and things like inbound freight and that kind of stuff aren't accounted for in the pricing and stuff of the products in quite the same way as the parts department does, who can stock order things. You tend not to find very many online resources for things like whole good kits. A lot of times we do have things like this on the shelf if you call in and talk to a person over the phone. They're going to pull out a PDF file that goes through and lays out all the different options and accessory kits for your tractors.
These things aren't even really available to us in a modern electronic format. A lot of times we're searching through PDF files for every one of our vendors, not just Kubota, in order to go back through and find this information. So it's one of these places where the internet has not replaced human beings yet, right? The data is not good enough for that release to start to happen. So third function kits are one of those things that it's really a good idea to order by making a phone call, because we can give you that proper pricing and availability, and also explain to you the differences that might exist between manufacturers.

The three that we tend to sell can really be very different from one another in both the cost and the way that they install onto your tractor. And there's a lot of variation between models on how each one of those companies really addresses your particular model. So a good educated sales person can go through and explain those things to you so that we can sell you the best piece for your tractor.
