My diff lock rod was completely missing. It got ripped out by kudzu while clearing some land. I found it later and it was pretty bent. So I installed from just looking at the geometry.
Remove the left rear wheel after chocking and lifting the tractor. Use jack stands. With the wheel off, locate the diff lock pedal. Press the pedal down and slide the rod behind the frame with the end having no pin hole into the diff lock pedal arm that protrudes through the bulkhead. The nubs on the arm will align with notches in the arm with the pedal pressed and the arm perpendicular to the ground. Note that the nubs closest to the bend do not go into the pinhole. One pair of nubs go into and through the hole, the other set remain visible to the outside.
Make sure the rod can turn freely on the arm. Then push the other end of the rod into the differential arm that is to the rear and just below the chassis. You’ll need a pin or other securing device to slide into the hole at the end of the rod to secure it. I used a small key ring since vines are a problem where I’m working.
