I removed the lap bar to access the gas strut. There are 4 screws per side that need a star shaped bit. I used a regular claw hammer to remove the old gas strut from the lap bar. The new gas strut simply snaps into place on the lap bar with simple hand pressure. The lap bar is installed in reverse order, taking care not to disturb or distort the nut inserts when positioning the lap bar.
