Apply a little heat to castle nut and firmly hold cylinder tight. If no vise is not available, I have wrapped end of cylinder with card board and driven my truck front tire over it to hold firm. Apply good pressure to wrench to the nut. At the same time tapping with hammer on the wrench close to the nut. With luck the nut will slowly back off
