Lower the deck to it's lowest position. My hardest part of the installation was breaking the lock nuts loose. Release the belt tensioner and pull the 2 retaining pins on the rear lift. Remove the nuts on the lift rod. The deck can be moved forward and the lift rod removed. Replace with the new lift rod and install the nuts but do not tighten. Put the rear lift pins and belt tensioner back in place. Tighten the lift nuts to remove any play between it and the deck on both sides of the lift rod, but do not install lock nuts yet. Lift deck and check for front to back blade height. Manual says front blade should be approx 1/4" lower than rear blade. Adjust lift rod as necessary. Tighten lock nuts.
