Today we're outside with the Kubota Standard L Series tractor. I'm going to take a couple of minutes and go through a new owner introduction on this tractor. We've done a lot of videos on feature, function, benefit type stuff, and shown how machines work, but there is a particular process that we walk through in conversation that we have with everybody who's buying a tractor for the first time. I'm going to take a couple of minutes here and go around this tractor and show you all the controls, how to operate it.
Neil from Messick's here with today's Three-Minute Thursday. Today's short conversation is going to be about your tractor's hydraulic system and the way that it builds pressure.
Neil from Messick’s here out today to show you a quick demonstration on the proper technique to back drag with your loader. I’ve frequently seen guys doing this wrong. If you don't approach your pile and back drag in a right way, you can do some quick damage to your loader. I’m going to walk you through that here today.
We're out with a Kubota BX series tractor with a set of R4 tires on it to do a quick demo for you today on the turf damage that is done by an industrial tire. You guys seem to like tire videos. Every one of them that we do seems to solicit a lot of comments and a lot of opinions. We're going to take a little bit more time today and go over the turf damage that happens from an R4
Today, we're out in the parking lot with a Kubota BX series tractor. We're going to go through the steps of taking the mower deck on and off the machine and show you how to install and remove the non-drive over version of the Kubota BX deck. This process is relatively the same on all BX series tractors, whether you're looking at the new 80 series or one of the prior models that have been built over the last 15 years or so.
Today, we're out with the Kubota B-series tractor. I wanted to go through and show you some of the differences between using a mid-mount finish mower and a rear 3-point mounted finish mower and show you some of the differences in these mowers between their different construction and different applications for the varying mowing chores that you may have.
Neil from Messick's here. Sitting outside today on a Kubota BX 1880. Today we're going to have a short conversation about this tractor and when is it enough for most guys' applications, and when does it come up a little bit short? I shoot a lot of videos with sub-compact tractors and sometimes I feel in the comments and when talking to guys, I almost feel like a little bit of a defender of the subcompact. A lot of guys watching our videos have all kinds of different applications.
Neil from here out to do my favorite kind of video a new product launch video. We're going to go today over the L3560 Limited Edition and tell you exactly what makes this tractor Limited. A lot of times in the car world limited edition means that you're getting something more it's usually used for the high trim models, but in the case of this tractor, it's opposite. The limited-edition version of this tractor is a cheaper version than the regular L3560 variant that we've been selling for many years.
Neil from Messick's here, out today with the Kubota LA 434 front-loader. Today we're going to do a little bit of load cell testing down in our test pit. I've got here buried about 10 feet underground a tire with a chain attached to it and a loader cell between my loader and that chain going down underground. I'm going to go through and do a couple of demonstrations here for you today showing how lift, height, and the positioning on your loader bucket impacts your lift capacity.
We very frequently hear from customers how well turf tires can perform in the snow and something you wouldn't necessarily expect because of them not cleaning out so well. We're going to some numbers to that here today
Neil from Messick's here today, out to run through eight different mistakes that I see guys make when operating a front loader. The very first of our front loader mistakes is the way that we approach a pile of dirt. When you have your front loader bucket on from the tractor seat, it's often fairly challenging to be able to look down and know the exact orientation of that bucket and whether the floor of it, the bottom of the bucket, is level as you're approaching your pile.
Neil from Messick's here with today's Three Minute Thursday. Today I'm going to take a couple of minutes to show you how to put a three-point hitch kit onto the back of your BX tractor.
Neil from Messick's here, out today on a Kubota KX033 Mini Excavator. I'm going to walk through here with you today on some excavator operations basics. If you're going to be running a machine or getting known to one of these for the very first time, I'll run through how the different controls here work and talk you through some of the new tips that you might want to know as a new operator.
Neil from here today to have a quick conversation with you about hay bales, and specifically the weights of bales and the efficient ways in order to handle them. Can really have this conversation with two different groups of people, both the producers of hay bales and the consumers of them. This video is really going to be geared towards the consumer of the bale itself, so I'm going to walk through here with you a little bit and tell you how to handle these things around your farm.
Neil from here out to do a little bit of backyard work with you today. One of the fun things is when you have a tractor-based YouTube channel is that all the projects that you need to get done at home become videos. If you come along with me here we're going to do a little bit of work. I've got an area here that someday I'm hoping to have as part of my backyard.
Neil from Messick's here to talk through with you today on the different series of tractors that Kubota makes. I spent the better part of about the last three years making videos on these different models and their features and functionality. Consider this the index. If you have no idea where to start in your tractor buying process, this is where you're going to want to begin. We'll get you here to the right series tractor for your application.
Neil from Messick's here with the new Kubota SVL65, a new entry into Kubota's SVL series. I'll walk you around this new machine here and show you some of the places that it's the same and some of the differences from its bigger brothers. Why come out with an SVL65 at all? What's the purpose of having another model in this family? Well, there's really a handful of reasons for that. When you walk around the machine here, you're going to see just some interesting choices that Kubota made when putting this together. The one real driving force that we really needed a smaller machine in this family was weight.
Neil from Messick's here to talk through with you on the top five tractor accessories. Tractors are both tools and toys for a lot of us, and there's nothing more fun than accessorizing your toys. The stock lighting packages on most tractors are usually pretty inadequate, and you're going to find that if you have a loader on your machine, the headlights don't help that at all because when you bring your loader up, the loader is going to cover the headlights. Some kind of work light is a good idea on a lot of tractors.
Neil from Messick's here today with a little bit of a fun tractor video. I post a question on some Facebook groups about a month ago for guys to vote on what their worst most frustrating to use tractor attachment was. I'm going to run you through some of those here today. The number five most frustrating implement to use is a three-point hitch snowblower.
Kubota B26 - In a Lawn and Landscaping Application
This is one of my favorite attachments in order to sell to new tractor buyers. It's one of those pieces that you very easily can drop right on the ground and go to work and get really good results from. Come along with me here today. I'm going to show you around this project that I'm working on. Maybe of these things is right for you.
Neil from Messick's here. Today, to talk to you a little bit about a three-point quick hitch for the back of your tractor. Nearly 500 videos on YouTube now, believe it or not, and in several of them, I've mouth these things a little bit. The dealership side, they cause us a little bit of frustration sometimes because industry standards between these quick hitches and your implements are not strictly defined. There's a lot of implements these quick hitches don't work well with. That gives us sometimes a little bit of a bad taste for them.
Neil from Messick's here today, with a Kubota BX tractor, loaded to the hilt, with all the attachments and accessories that you would need for snow removal. We spent a lot of time talking about application on our channel, and the different attachments and accessories that you can get for your machine, and the different ways that you might use them.
We're going to walk around this attachment here to show you some of its features, maybe you're going to find that this is a way that you can really improve your fall leaf collection chores. The TKV is locally to us here, right down here in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Today, I'm going to show you how to get your tractor unstuck from the mud using your load or there's a little technique that you can do to help get that tractor out on your own, without needing another machine in order to tow you out
There's a surprising amount of options out there in the market for the simple task of spreading things around on the ground, whether it's salt, sand, seed, whatever it is that you have to broadcast, there's a number of different implements out there in order to get that done. I've got a handful of selections for drop spreaders to go in the back of a tractor but today we're going to talk about these two different types of broadcast spreaders.
Mower deck that's out of level can cause a whole host of cutting problems and performance issues. Generally, when a mower deck is out of level, you'll generally see that your one side of your cut is just a little bit higher than what the other side would be, leaving that step at the end of your deck. If you go through a couple steps here with me today we can eliminate that problem, make sure your tractors performing as well as possible.
Neil from Messick's here, out today with the Land Pride S 820 post auger to go on the front of some compact tractors, or machines are going to have a little less hydraulic flow. This is a unique piece that we've had a lot of interest in here lately, coming from guys that are a little disappointed in the performance of three-point hitch post augers. Remember, about a year ago or so ago I did what was one of our most popular videos of the five worst attachments for a compact tractor. One of those was a three-point hitch post auger. This is the much better alternative. We'll take a walk around here and show you exactly how this fits up to the tractor.
Let's take a quick walk around this machine here and we'll show you some of the different features on this four-wheel-drive mowing machine. Well, Kubota has always been known for there compact tractors. They've also always had a line of residential mowing equipment as well.
This is a new tractor in the BX series, replacing the BX 25. Let's take a quick walk around here, and we'll show you some of the changes. This is a really important model for us in Kubota's product line. Our dealership sells over 200 BX series tractors a year. For us and our customers, this is a very well accepted and high-volume model in our product range. If would go around the machine here, you can see a lot of places that Kubota made improvements to this tractor.
I really like when companies make innovative products, things that are different from what you see everywhere else. Kubota has really done that with these two mowers.
Today, we're going to discuss about the Kubota L6060 tractor. This tractor is 60 engine horsepower, its a four cylinder turbocharged engine, it has 53 PTO horse power. It comes standard with four wheel drive, as well the hydro-static transmission. You can get this tractor with either an air conditioned heated cab or a fold down rollbar.
One of the things you cannot miss about this machine is the profile of it. You can see as I stand here beside it, this is a much lower tractor that you typically would find in a 111 horsepower machine. You can also notice the huge set of tires that are on this machine here in the front and the back. These tractors are typically sold into two unique applications a one that is in the orchards where they need a load machine to get underneath the low branches and also into poultry and chicken houses where they're typically dealing with lower height rubes, they need a high horsepower machine that they can fit inside the barn.
Normally, we're used to walk it around tractors outside but these machines aren't going to ship for anywhere between about two to six months here at this point. So we're going to go through a quick slideshow of things from pitchers and stuff that we took at the meeting to give you an idea what some of the new products are going to be.
We're out today with two of Kubota M7 series tractors a 171 premium KBT and a 151 standard. We're going to go around both of these tractors here and show you some of the differences in features of what exactly makes a standard tractor standard and a premium tractor premium. When we get into the world of agricultural tractors there's a lot of differences between models and when we've gone through compact tractors and utility tractors and other models
We're out with the Kubota K008 excavator. Mini, mini excavator or as my wife would say cute. Now we're going to take a quick walk around this machine here, take a look at it and see if it's something that might be right for your application.
Several years ago Kubota started coming out with their own insurance product to sell along with a financing contract. If you've ever financed a tractor or a piece of equipment before, you would have find that financing goes hand in hand with insurance.
We're here today with a Kubota M5660 Utility Tractor. Hard to imagine now but we've been doing tractor walk-arounds for almost a year and we're still not the whole way through the product line. It just show you something about the incredible variety of the machines that are in the Kubota product line. This M series machine is considered an Economy Special Utility Tractor. We're going to walk around in here and point out some of the things that make it a little bit different from its more deluxe brethren, and the 6060 and the 7060, and show you some of the good applications that you might be able to find for this machine.
I know you guys are going to start to think of us a little bit as the Kubota BX site and, you know, a little bit of that can be explained in the importance that this product line is to us. Our dealership literally sells nearly a BX series tractor every day. We sold over 250 of these machines last year and our customers couldn't be happier. It is the highest volume single product that our dealership has it's subcompact tractors. Reading through the comments that a lot of guys have left on our videos in the past.
I’m going to take a quick trip through the process here of taking the backhoe off of the new BX23s tractor loader backhoe. This backhoe was fairly similar to tractors that they’ve had in years gone past but there’s one significant difference in the way that the backhoe releases from the tractor here that we want to detail. You come right over here with me and look down here underneath the fender. Most backhoe is usually pin onto the back of the tractor and in the case of this machine. This is a little bit different.
It's Thursday. We're going to put three minutes on the clock down here, and answer the question for you today, why are internet package deals for tractors a bit of a scam?
One of the most cringe-inducing things that we see a new tractor owner do is to modify their roll bar in some way. Oftentimes, guys get the idea that they want to put lights up on the ROPS or a nice bright light bar across the top or put a toolbox or something back around the side over here. People can come up with all kinds of things that they would like to attach onto this structure.
We're out today to show you around our dealership a little bit and show you how equipment arrives here from different manufacturers and some of the work that we do in order to get the machine prepped and ready to send out to you.
Today we have a customer setting up his excavator using a pin grabber coupler. I'm going to show you the pin grabber, exactly how it works and also the traditional mechanical coupler as well. And show you some of the two pros and cons of the different coupler systems that you can have between your buckets and your excavators. So the coupler that you'll typically find on most excavators is a traditional mechanical coupler.
We're back now from the Annual Kubota Dealer Meeting. This is the time of year here every October where a big meeting is held for the introduction of new products, new business initiatives, and those kinds of things. This year it was held in Phoenix, Arizona.
We are working through a series of comparative videos between Kubota's different series tractors. We're up here in the upper end now between an MX and an M Series machine. This is one of the first places in this comparison series that you're going to start to see some very, very clear differences for a very, very different customer. Let's take a quick walk around these two tractors here and we could show you what makes an MX right for one person and an M series right for another.
we’ll give a short conversation and do a comparison between Kubota's Grand L Series and Kubota's MX Series tractors. Take a quick walk around here with me and we’ll show you some of the differences between these two series.
We're out today with the Kubota standard L Series tractor and the Grand L Series machine to show you some of the differences that exist within Kubota L Series tractors.
We're out today with several Kubota machines, and we're going to take a moment to show you some of the differences when you move from a B-Series tractor into an L-Series tractor. Take a walk here with me around these two machines, and we'll show you some of the things that make these tractors tick.
We've got out today a cab one of Kubota BX-series tractor. This is Kubota 's new factory cab offering for this machine. One of the things we always find frustrating about a lot of our tractor manufacturers is that they never do a very good job of giving us a lot of information about the accessories for these machines. While we're out here today we've got one of these in a lot, we're going to take an opportunity to walk around here show you the way that this thing fits onto the machine and show you some of its features and benefits.
We're going to to go through the process today of putting the Front Quick Hitch system onto the BX Series tractor. This hitch is used for the front snowblower and front blade systems. It has a couple of different parts and moving pieces here. We're going to show you exactly how the setup of this system works to switch from, say, a loader configuration to a snowblower.
We're out today with the Kubota BX2816 50 inch front snowblower for the BX80 series tractors. This is a unique piece that we have out here today typically we get a little frustrated when our vendors don't give us a whole lot of good information about front attachments and those kinds of things. We're going to spend some time on this one and hopefully be able to give you a little bit of information it might be hard to come by when flipping through a piece of literature.
Back in 2012, Kubota purchased a Kverneland Group, which we primarily knew here in the US as Vicon. Those pieces were sold as Vicon and, also, under a whole bunch of different manufacturers, painted different colors, but Kubota is now the owner of that company, the owner of all that technology and assets. Hay rakes, tedders, disc mowers, those kinds of things, you will see a lot of commonality with Vicon equipment. However, the baler is different.
Neil: Neil from Messick's here, we’re out today with the Kubota hay rake, joining me here today is Anthony Rhodes, our Kubota hay tools product specialist. We're going to do a quick walk around this piece here, show you some of its features and functions and have a conversation about what customer might be best served by a rake like this.
Neil: Neil from Messick's here. We’re out today with a Kubota hay tedder. Joining me is Anthony Rhodes, my local Kubota hay tools product specialist. We do a quick walk around this piece here to show you some of the features and functions of it. I talked a little bit about hay tedders, what they do and why you should use one. If you watch a lot of our YouTube videos, we do videos on construction equipment and compact tractors and zero turn mowers and all kinds of stuff but if you've not been initiated to hay tools before you might think that a rake and a tedder look very similar but they actually have very different functions. Anthony, what is the difference between a rake and tedder?
Our typical customer for this tractor tends to be a small hay operator, hobby farm, small farmer for looking for a utility tractor. Generally, Kubotas do best in haying and loader applications. This tractor is an incremental step through the rest of the M series so it's replacing the M8560 and the M9960.
Kubota has been building this series of diesel zero turns for the better part of probably 15 years. This is the third major iteration of these machines, the third major redesign that has been done.
This is the most popular Tractor that our dealership sells. Last year we sold 196 of these guys. We were hoping for four more to hit the 200 mark, but it didn't just come together. It looks like this year we are on track to do that actually. Sales for this product are very, very strong. It's a very popular tractor for us. Let's do a quick walk around here we'll show you why it's the top selling subcompact tractor of the entire last decade.
One of the best features that we have on these loaders when you lift them up and down is the ability to go and keep the bucket level as the loader goes up and down. You'll notice that a lot of lesser tractors and lesser loaders, it's very difficult to do this function smoothly and you'll see something like this when the loader goes up and then the bucket moves, and then the loader goes up and then the bucket moves. Kubota does a really good job in the way they plumb these valves and making stroking multiple functions really easy in simple operation and that's just not the case even in a lot of other leading tractors out there.
This is Kubota's purpose-built backhoe for the BX series tractors. We're going to do a quick walk-around here, show you the functions of this backhoe, exactly how it works. We'll dig in the dirt out here a little bit, and you can check and see whether this is something that is right for you. One thing that you'll notice is a little bit different on this backhoe, compared to the lot of the other ones that we put on tractors, is that there is no separate seat for the backhoe. On most tractors, where hoes are added on after the fact, a second seat is put behind the backhoe. When you want to operate it, you get off the tractor and get back onto a second seat.
Today we're going to do a short review on the Kubota BX25 Sub-Compact Tractor. We're going to walk around here and do a layout on what the basic controls are on this machine, give you an idea of how to operate a machine like this. The concepts that we're going to cover here are going to apply to most Kubota products specifically those in the BX series. Today that would be the BX25, BX1870, 2370, and 2670.
There are two chassis sizes in the B series, this is the larger of the frames that are offered in this size. Let's take a quick walk around here, we'll take a look at these models and see if this is a tractor that may be right for you. Kubota offers several different configurations of these tractors depending on exactly what your needs are.
Kubota has been the leader in the diesel utility vehicle space here for nearly ten 10 years, commanding a vast majority of the market. This machine is a lot different than a lot of the other machines that you'll find out there, and Kubota has made a lot of improvements here for this latest iteration of this machine. Let's take a quick look.
75 horse utility tractors are really popular products for us. It falls into the right size and the right niche that you can find a lot of customers with a lot of different needs for a machine of this size.
Tractors have improved and come a long way in the last 50 years. Somehow this thing has been stuck in its own little time capsule and not progressed with the rest of the industry.
To start, we're going to look exactly what tractor we're comparing to. In the case of this machine over here, this is John Deere 4052M. A 52 horsepower economy version of this tractor. If we work through the options that Deere uses to compare on Johndeere.com to the Kubota tractor, you'll notice that they compare this 4052 to a Kubota 4760. I'm giving themselves a small edge in horsepower, but picking a transmission that's actually a lot more simplistic than the Kubota equipment. You won't find those differences if you work your way down through the spec sheet.
We were lucky enough to have five of the six different variations of Kubota's BX Series tractor all in stock at the same time. To take a quick walk through each model here with me and we'll point out some of the differences as this tractor has grown up over the years.
One of the things that annoys us when we go and we see these internet package deals is that oftentimes these packages aren't necessarily great values for the customer in the end
This tractor occupies a unique space in Kubota's lineup. Let's take a quick walk around here and take a look at some of the new features.
Today we're going to go over servicing a BX series tractor. Kubota has gone the extra-mile put all the filters we're going to need inside this box. We're going to un-box this, show you all the filters that it comes with, show you where they go on your BX tractor. All right. The first thing we're going to do is we're going to un-box it. We'll open up the box, take a look and see what's inside. The first thing we're going to pull out, we got two fuel filters.
Here with the very first of our Kubota SSV skid steers. We're really excited to show these to you here today. This is probably for us one of the biggest Kubota product launches we have ever had. The demand and excitement among our customers and our staff here is probably a new record among products that we've had through here before.
